A New Story

Baseball should be a bridge, not a trap.

In the Dominican Republic, thousands of boys grow up believing baseball is their only way out. Many leave school early to chase a contract that almost never comes. The Straley Project flips that script: school comes first, baseball becomes the incentive, and every child is treated as more than an athlete.

Who takes care of the 98%?

Most Dominican players never sign professionally. Without education, many are left with no diploma, no safety net, and no path forward. That is the gap this mission exists to fill.

The Model

Education first. Baseball second. Futures always.

The model is simple: players earn baseball support by staying committed to school, discipline, and personal growth.

School Commitment

Players commit to school and make education their first priority.

Mentorship & Accountability

Local staff track participation, support families, and reinforce the standard every week.

Baseball Development

Players train, compete, and grow — but the game never replaces the classroom.

Student-Athletes

Kids first. Players second.

The clearest proof of impact is not a statistic. It is a kid who stays in school because the team gave him a reason to keep showing up.
